Will get hurt.
When the season starts, Krebs is waiver exempt, so he can be sent to the AHL freely.
I could see them waiving a guy like Carrier if need be. He costs $1.4 mill against the cap and hasn’t developed the way they expected. It’s possible someone might take him, but he also might get though at that number and at his level of production.
They’ve reshaped the Bottom 6 and he’s not as necessary as he was before. I imagine the lineup now looks something like this:
Pacioretty-Stephenson-Stone
Marchessault-Karlsson-Smith
Tuch-Janmark-Dadonov
Roy-Patrick-Howden
Martinez-Pietrangelo
Theodore-McNabb
Hague-Whitecloud
Lehner
Broissoit
Scratches: Kolesar, Coghlan
That actually is the deepest bottom six we’ve ever had as long as Dadonov plays like he did in Florida rather than Ottawa (giving us two guys who could combine for 45-50 goals on the third line). Patrick is also a really interesting lottery ticket.
