The Jazz were awesome when Conley played. They are in win now mode. With their
lack of salary cap space, they either re-sign Conley and pay the luxury tax or they significantly downgrade. It’s better to gamble on Conley’s health and keep the NBA’s #1 seed together than to gamble on shaking up the dynamic of a team that has possibly only a 3-4 year window for contention.
Rudy’s about to be on the other side of 30 and we don’t know if Donovan will come back to the Jazz once this 2nd contract is up. Time to take risks and try to win.
