the P12 as "affiliate" members. UT and CU will be split off and moved into an eastern division with the B12 schools. All the B12 schools will be equal members of the conference for all purposes except for financial compensation. P12 will negotiate a separate contract for the additional content provided by the new members and distribute 90% of that revenue to the former B12 schools. 4% of the new contract will be retained by the conference, and the other 12 schools will each get 1/2 of a percent of the new contract.
This new plan stabilizes the P12 and prevents any potential cannibalization of the conference by the B1G. It also prevents the orphan 8 of the B12 from trying to poach the AZ schools. It's a way to expand the P12 without any of the existing schools taking a revenue hit by dividing the pie into more pieces.
