Since we learned the addition of BYU, UCF, Cinci, and Houston would increase
the payouts from what was predicted without OU/Texas, it only make sense to add the four anyway, stay at 14, and get an even bigger payout than they were going to get absent adding the four. This is frankly what should have been done in 2016, so I don’t think there is any turning back now that the Big12 has seen how fragile the conference is in its current makeup.
