There’s a little known area of research called synkinetic movement. It studies the movements of various parts of the body while one walks and runs and moves in various ways.

It is entirely natural for someone trying to maintain balance to extend an arm or leg. It is also completely natural to have an arm extended away from the body when stretching to kick a ball with the leg extended from the center of mass.

Maybe it’s semantics but it’s natural.
