BYU. We have come such a long way. I was at school during the stupid A+ Fan Initiative that discouraged booing and generally made us incredibly boring. There was no ROC. The "student section" had very little energy. No Pre-game experience.
In 2004 I bought a shirt outside the stadium that said "Fire Crowton" on the front and had 1 Nephi 4:13 on the back. I thought it was kind of funny. A few minutes into the game several police officers came to my seat and told me I needed to take my shirt off or turn it inside out. After saying no I was escorted out of the stadium and we lost to UNLV (probably because I wasn't there cheering).
I grew up a CU fan and was started going to games with my Grandpa around the time they won the National Championship in 90. I LOVED going to college football games, but I felt so let down when I came to Provo. It wasn't near the same type of experience.
Watching this video makes me so pumped. We are closing the gap on game day experience. It's so much more fun to be a BYU fan right now than almost any time in our history. I love what Kalani is doing with the entire program, and I'm excited that the kids going to BYU right now are getting such a cool experience. I hope it only gets better as we move into the Big 12.
