First one was when I was about 16. After a few hours of awful migraine and being sick to my stomach, I threw up and then felt better. I assumed it happened due to something I ate.
Second time it happened when I was on my mission (probably 20 yrs old). Same thing--after I threw up (in an investigator's garden right outside their house) I felt better. Again, I assumed that Irmã Souza's Salpicão had old mayo and I got food poisoning.
The next time it happened I was probably 25 and from then on, I would get one every 3-4 months. Every single time I got a migraine, it would follow the same pattern: bad, bad headache/migraine for 4-5 hours, feeling sick to my stomach for a couple hours, vomit, and feel better instantly. It almost always happened that I would start to feel sick in the early afternoon and throw up in the evening. Before I threw up, I would not be able to sleep, but as soon as I threw up, I could fall asleep right away and wake up the next morning feeling awesome and more rested than normal.
As I rolled into my thirties, the timing got later and later so that I wasn't throwing up until 2-3am. I would still feel very rested in the morning, however.
Now I'm mid-forties and I haven't had a migraine episode for a few years. At least I haven't vomited from one in that time--I've gotten headaches that start to feel the same, but never reach the same pain intensity, and then fade away after a few hours. Even these minor migraines are less frequent.
