this is going to be the case study of can somebody basically openly get away with murder
if they can't find the body, he keeps his mouth shut, and he did a sufficiently good job of hiding the body and other clues he could walk away scot free. they may still charge him without a body, but that's a hard sell to juries without a lot of other evidence.
