... down to whoever scored last. UH had some small and extremely quick WRs and RBs that our guys just couldn't stop for much of the game. Fortunately defense wasn't UH's strong point either.

Lots of ebb and flow in that game. Huge momentum swings. Really exciting game. In many ways it was a far better game than the BYU vs Texas game in Austin, even though kicking a "blue blood's" butt does have a special quality all of its own.

Of the away games that I have attended in recent years, for pure thrills, I rate the game at Houston just barely ahead of Nebraska, though the Nebraska finish and breaking their multi-decade first home game of the season win streak were awesome. The Texas game started slow, but was never in doubt after half-time. A good ol' butt kicking does have a very nice thrill level of a different type.

Texas and Nebraska were more fun for the game day stuff, because we were on their campuses. UH was using the NFL stadium while theirs was being renovated, so there was no opportunity to visit the campus. I lived in Houston at the time so I was already familiar with it, but none of my family that came from out of town got to see it (frankly I don't think they were missing much).
