We moved between the birth of our first child and second child. As such we went to a different hospital. This labor started at around 9:00, oddly enough during a nativity reenactment where my wife was playing Mary and her water broke spectacularly. We drove two hours to the hospital and her labor started in earnest soon after we arrived. Baby was born around 5 in the morning.

The thing is, this hospital had bottomless fountain drinks. And after my fifth trip to the source of sugary goodness and three hours into labor, I was coming back with my 40 oz cup of lemonade and right as I came in the room, it somehow slipped out of my hands and spilled all over the floor. My wife then let me know in certain terms that she was unhappy with my soda intake as the nurses cleaned up the huge yellow puddle on the hospital floor. In hindsight, as much soda as I was drinking , , , yeah, it was lemonade.

I didn't go back until after the baby was born.
