I wonder what the math is on this because I bet it wasn't a statistically
appreciable risk to kick the PAT.
What is 100% clear is that if there was 30 seconds more on the clock, then not kicking the PAT would have been a clearly stupid decision. And conversely, 20 seconds less on the clock would make it clear that you don't kick the PAT.
I'm not sure what the correct amount of time is where the flip switches but it is somewhere around there.
