is that he seems to have bought into the BYU hype. He's very complimentary of BYU. I think he's done so many BYU games the last few years that he really knows the program and who people are and I think that comes through in his broadcasting. But that was not always the case — a few times last year and perhaps going back to 2019 (this crew did BYU games back then too, right?) he seemed to either have something against BYU (or at least hadn't yet bought into our narrative).

My gripe with him is that he sometimes commits too hard to a position. He will watch a replay and say "there's no way that can be overturned," and then when the review goes the other way, he's locked himself out. And he's captain obvious. In the Arizona game, when they scored late, everyone knew that Arizona would try an onside kick. Once they completed their conversion, he simply said, "And now . . . onside kick." It wasn't a bad comment — an onside kick was indeed going to be the next play. It just added absolutely nothing to the broadcast.
