1) Kwitt picked the easier job.
2) Kwitt’s coaching style is a better fit at Utah and would have occasionally embarrassed the BOT.
3) Kwitt has had more success at Utah than he would have had at BYU.
4) BYU needed someone undoubtedly and unabashedly “LDS” to repair the program’s reputation.
5) Bronco found a way to turn the HC/LDSness of BYU into a strength instead of a weakness (even making inroads with the HC office).
6) Bronco’s example may have even saved Kwitt’s job at the U. At one point Kwitt’s team was losing and he was in hot water. Ute fans were calling for his job and he Kwitt started sounding more Bronco than Bronco himself. He turned his team around and saved his job.

Kwitt is a very good (if not great) coach.
Bronco was the coach BYU needed at the time.
Both schools should be grateful to have had their respective coaches.
