He’s saying that those who broke in are likely meth users or some other highly addictive drug. Even the biggest losers
among us wouldn’t normally do this kind of thing but it’s not uncommon with addicts who are desperate, unfortunately. The addiction is so overwhelming that they do lose their conscious and souls.
It’s especially sad for the victims and also sad for the addicts.
