By successful, I mean create a following that isn't just tuning in to laugh and make memes of you?
I am pretty sure I could not. I am boring.
I had a chance to watch the latest from Three Angry Yewts in a Basement over lunch and thought about what they are missing. I think you need at least one of the following to be compelling:
1. Expertise--you know or can explain things in a way to enlighten listeners
2. Connections--ability to bring in insiders or experts who have expertise
3. Access--ability to get to information other people (the news, other podcasts, etc) don't have
4. Talent--if you are missing the above, then you better be a compelling story teller, really funny/clever, etc.
