time is game time.
I coached my girl’s softball all star team this past summer and our first game didn’t start until about 9:30 due to the first game going extra innings. It was after midnight before the game was over. I didn’t notice any issue in play, and that was with kids that are usually in their beds no later than 10.
Once the adrenaline starts pumping it doesn’t matter how late it is, assuming we’re not talking about a six or more hour jet lag difference.
But again, just the travel might have an impact, so it’s good for them to be traveling on Thursday and have basically two full days to recover. They’re a young team, have lots of weak spots, traveling, and heading into a loud and rowdy environment against a top 20 team. They’ve got a challenge on their hands.
