What hole? We went 5-6 in 2004 playing the toughest SOS ever at BYU and missed..
...being 6-5 and bowl eligible literally by a few inches when a last second game winning FG hit the upright at #14 Boise St. The SOS that year was #11 toughest.
The next season, Bronco's first, we returned nearly everyone (a returning team loaded with future NFL players), played a significantly easier SOS (all the way up In the 70s) and won one more game.
