Living in Michigan that was the first game i was able to take my whole family to (i had done Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin with my wife, brother or friends). Drove down, did the whole pregame BYU BBQ and had my four kids all pumped and then it felt like the team just slept through 3 quarters or so.
With so many 10:30pm starts I don't get many chances for my kids to watch games live so I was really banking on that being an amazing gameday experience to hook them. Overall it still was, my kids felt part of the BYU experience at least for a couple hours like all their local MSU and U of M friends get to do every fall weekend. Still, I left that game totally demoralized as a fan. I wasn't mad, more sad acceptance/depression that the team didn't seem to show up.
I know I'm just rambling 😄. BYU has also given me amazing experiences at MSU, Wisconsin and this last Utah game (for some insane reason I decided to fly out to Provo for it, so glad I did!).
In the end I'm just glad they held on last night and beat a team they should have beat.
