Locked our bikes at subway station (inner city, rough part of Philadelphia) on way to ZC. Come back and bikes are done. Comp had been using a bike from home with lots of unique stickers, including for the band he was in. A week later we’re out walking in the hood and this kid rides by on my comp’s bike. He takes off running and catches up to the kid. Comp straddles front tire between his legs, facing kid, grabs handle bars and they begin a tug-of-war like battle while both hold on to the handle bar. My comp was a small thin guy and the kid wins the war and takes off on the bike. My comp was so mad and frustrated, but eventually could laugh about it.

And if you are wondering, he took off running without me, I didn’t realize what was happening and by the time I caught up the battle was over and the bike was gone, again.
