the side effects would depend on the composition of the med as they are not created equally. Generally kids are pretty sensitive to side effects and I generally stay away from them in that age group anyway. Likely not life threatening but may get super hyper with a fast heart beat or just the opposite. PC can certainly tell you what to watch for based on what preparation you gave them
