I was a tad disappointed in Federation, until I went back and re-read book 1. Now I realize the book doesn't have much action in it, either; mostly about political intrigue.
One of the hardest parts to portray seems like it'll be the attitudes of the Aes Sedai women. There are some pretty nuanced characters amongst them, but with a real streak of bossiness because no one could stand up to them, other than the other Aes Sedai. Portraying their power-based heirarchy, and the tendencies of the ajas will be tough, or at least it would be easy to gloss over.
