My wife & daughter were riding in a friend’s model 3 last night and it just completely turned off while they were driving. It blacked out on a dark desert road. They were lucky to get it stopped on the shoulder in the pitch black without hitting anything.

Apparently, the 12v battery went dead. They couldn’t even open the frunk to jump it. It had to be towed away, and the wheels wouldn’t turn to get it on a flatbed.

Is this a common problem? Seems pretty dangerous to me. I can’t imagine what would have happened if it died on the freeway.
