I would say I have two main hobbies, cars and BYU football.
While I love BYU football, I have absolutely no control over the outcome, and the stress involved when I can't influence any outcome is painful. Why do I get emotionally invested in something beyond my control?
And while I like cars, I couldn't possibly justify any serious car-hobby related expenses. If I had more money, maybe. I'm not struggling by any means, but spending thousands of dollars of a frivolous hobby is something I couldn't remotely do in good conscience, let alone convince my wife.
I need an inexpensive hobby that doesn't rip my heart out like BYU football does.
