Mars alone influences most any sci-fi or ww2 score.
Some have even blatantly ripped it to successful effect. Because the strings combined with the brass is just incredibly powerful.
Cliff Eidelman's theme for Star Trek VI is highly underrated as far as Trek themes go, and is essentially a Mars re-imagining (start at 0:30)
