waiting on the team to come down and head to the arena. My Dad and I were watching different BYU brass come and stand in the lobby, with each making a point to say a few words to one silver haired man standing nearby. Although I recognized almost everyone coming down and waiting for the team from BYU, I couldn’t figure out who the man was with the silver hair. After a few minutes I decided to go over and talk to him and introduce myself. He introduced himself as Sy Kimball.
From that one conversation, he brought me into the Coaches Circle, introduced me to a ton of people at BYU, have gone to many games with him over the years (including the Grove), and met his family. I have nothing but great things to say about him. He is BYU’s biggest fan. Many of us talk about BYU, Sy is BYU.
Happy 98th Birthday Sy!!
