I have personal reasons.
My oldest brother is a Utah grad and a big Ute fan. On Thursday he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. His disease is further along than most who get officially diagnosed.
The night before his diagnosis I had a good 90 min talk with him at the hospital. He was as lucid as he’s been in a very long time. It was HIM, not the disease. I’ll always cherish that because there won’t be many of those, if any left like that talk. He was transferred to a specialty facility yesterday.
Due to circumstances beyond his control he can’t watch the Utah/Arizona State game tonight. So I will be cheering and cheering hard for him. From now on. Hate on it all you want with eye roll and thumbs down emojis. I don’t care
Family always means more to me than the color of a team you cheer for. I’ll always be Rise & Shout all day long. That doesn’t change.
