...called runs. He's had some really effective runs where nobody's open and he takes off, beats the pursuit up front, gets to the edge and scampers down the sideline and steps out of bounds with first down yardage or more.
That's a backbreaker for the D because now they have to account for that threat either by pulling someone out of coverage or away from rushing the QB to keep him contained.
I seem to remember on a critical 4th and long this year he did that and converted it late in a game. It was huge and deflating to the D.
