Rough week for Cougs, but a HUGE week for BYU commits
Cannon DeVries (WR, Weber) had two rushing touchdowns (one of which included a nifty spin move).
Ice Moa (DE, Weber) had a season high ten tackles and FIVE sacks.
Parker Kingston (QB, Roy) went 4-for-8 through the air for 168 yards and two touchdowns (with one interception), rushed five times for 84 yards and three more scores, and had two punt returns for 69 yards.
Cody Hagen (WR, Corner Canyon) had four receptions for 144 yards (36.0 avg) and three touchdowns.
Easton Baker (LB, Stansbury) had nine tackles (two solo), two forced fumbles—with one of them returned 97 yards for a touchdown.
Cooper Ross (TE/LB, Heritage) had five receptions for 51 yards with two touchdowns, two two-point conversions, four sacks and a forced fumble.

Here is how the BYU commits from Utah are stacking up with the other prep leaders:

Cody Hagen at no. 1 in the state of Utah in receiving yards (1366) and yards per game (136.6), no. 7 in total receptions (65), and tied for no. 3 in receiving touchdowns (14)
Pokai Haunga at no. 4 in the state of Utah for receiving yards (1042), no. 5 in receiving yards per game (115.8), and tied for no. 10 in receiving touchdowns (11).
Maika Kaufusi is currently no. 11 in the state in receiving yards per game (101), no. 24 in receiving touchdowns (4), and tied for no. 1 in touchdowns per game (2.0).
Parker Kingston tied at no. 2 in the state of Utah for rushing touchdowns (16), no. 4 in total touchdowns (18), no. 5 in yards per carry 9.3 (min of 50 carries), and no. 13 in total rush yards (1002).
Braxton Fely is no. 11 in the state of Utah for sacks (10.5), and no. 7 in tackles for loss (20).
Hezekia Ambrosio tied for no. 6 in the state of Utah for solo tackles and no. 15 in tackles for loss.
MaxPreps doesn’t have a leader board for forced fumbles, but if they did Baker would almost assuredly lead the state in forced fumbles (7) and defensive touchdowns (3).

I've only looked closely at BYU recruiting for the last 5-6 years, but this class is definitely the one I've been most excited about. We have a bunch of WRs and LBs coming into the program that I believe are legit NFL prospects, despite coming from Utah and being undervalued/underrated by the major recruiting services.
