It's maddening to me that talk of new nuclear plants seem to be a nonstarter.
That said, we were down in Emery County over the weekend, and went past the PacifiCorp coal powered plant by Castle Dale. That's a 1300 MW plant with three tall towers spewing what appeared to be mostly steam. For providing so much power, I was astonished at how clean the air in that Huntington/Castle Dale/Ferron area was.
Still, I wish nuclear was much more prevalent.
