Marques Tuiasusopo was his QB coach and named as the interim HQ because (IIRC) Sark took the DC, OC, etc with him.
BYU was ranked 25th in the nation and had Taysom, Jamaal, Cody Hoffman. Good offense, right? We got pounded 31-16. A makeshift coaching staff with no promises of employment beyond that bowl game put together a real plan vs. "just another game" from BYU.
An interesting quote from the day:
"A 'work in progress' all season long, the BYU offensive line shuffled players in and out in various positions:
Head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive coordinator Robert Anae both say they’ve witnessed progress in recent weeks, but there have still been a lot of whiffs, missed assignments, questionable efforts, injuries, rotating lineups, challenges to compete, and advocacy to be more physical. When in pass pro — a formation with a loaded backfield to help pass block — backs are missing shuffle blocks and pickups. Offensive line coach Garett Tujague has navigated all this like Horatio Hornblower."
Things stay the same more than they change, it seems.
If we don't smell blood in the water and go for the kill on this game, then, it speaks way more about our team and coaching than it does Wazzu.
