The Dodgers were pretty much full strength last season, with an OF that
was making amazing plays, robbing extra base hits and even a couple of would have been HRs. This season they’ve got Lux out in CF dropping some and choosing to play the bounce on others, all of which were outs last season.

Last season Urias was spectacular and won 2 games. This season he gave up runs in game 1 and lost game 4.

Last season Kike was everywhere. This season he’s in Boston.

Last season Justin Turner hit .280 scoring 6 runs off of 7 hits. This season he was a non-factor before even leaving game 4.

Last season Seager hit .310 with 5 HRs. This season he is hitting .200 with 2.

Joc Pederson hit .389. This season he’s with the Braves.

Muncy made solid contributions last year, including 2 HRs. This season he’s out injured.

Seager hit .310 last year, .205 so far this year.

They just aren’t playing the same, and several key contributors are either gone or injured.

I think the biggest difference this year and what will likely be the demise (probably tonight) is the patchwork defense. That OF is simply not making plays and it’s not going to get any better with them needing to replace Turner at 3rd. Being a bull pen game, they’re going to run out of bats before they get to the ninth.
