It is way WAY easier to tech a 5 year old to close the door behind them then a 15 year old…

Also true for turning lights off, slamming doors, and frankly everything…

I taught my 7ear old how to mow the lawn… he’s done it happily ever since (he’s 12 now) granted the first few years required a lot of supervision and I told his little brothers they couldn’t do it because they were not old enough… now all 3 mow the lawn as if it is a privilege …and they do a good job…

Can’t win them all but that’s a big fat W

I do enjoy mowing the lawn so maybe genetics play a part?
