when it comes to historical accuracy, but that's because it was made in 1943, during the war. The focus of the movie is on the land battles around Henderson Field, but the battles depicted were so inaccurate. All of the battles occurred at night, but most during the movie were fought during the day. It could have been so much better. A movie based exclusively on the book deserves to be made.
