I agree- there are a lot of "experienced" gun owners out there that are just
plain stupid and cavalier about gun safety. I don't care who it is or how much experience they claim they have, or even if I've shot with them before. We have gun safety discussions at the beginning of every shooting activity, even with police officers and SWAT team members present. They can roll their eyes all they want, but I still catch them violating basic rules that are in place to keep everybody alive.

I shoot in the desert on BLM land and try to do so on off days and inconvenient times, because as soon as other people show up, I leave. I've had so many experiences where people have pulled up and basically started shooting in my general direction. I can police my own group, but I can't police others. I think its only a matter of time before somebody is seriously injured or killed and the BLM shuts down these public shooting spaces.
