I ended up buying the Pixel 6 Pro through bestbuy.com because I was struggling with the google store going back and forth between error messages and getting a message that they were out of stock.

Best Buy is still saying that I'll receive it by launch date 10/28/21, but it apparently hasn't shipped yet, because there's no update on that end of things. Same with the pixel buds that came along with the purchase.
