Got a call later that night from a lady down the street who laid into me for not using her son.

'Don't you know that EVERYONE in the ward uses Little Timmy for lawn aerating???!!  Don't you know that he is saving that money for his mission???!! I can't BELIEVE you wouldn't use Little Timmy for that!'

I tried to stammer in an apology during the rant. Of course I didn't know any of that. We'd been in the house about 3 weeks. But she kept cutting me off and got pretty loud. Once she was finished, I just laughed and said, 'Okay.' and hung up.

Her husband came and apologized to me at church the following Sunday.
