I'm not the one who made a ridiculous claim, but I'll prove it to you anyway.
Red licorice is by far more popular than back licorice. There are however those that prefer black licorice to red licorice. If you offer a piece of licorice from a bowl full of red licorice with one piece of black licorice in it, the red licorice will be taken more often than the black licorice, but the piece of black licorice will be taken more often than any individual piece of red licorice.
BYU is unique. It isn't for everyone, but there are plenty of great athletes that actually prefer the experience that only BYU offers. To land a recruit, you have to be the best in some way. If you are just the same as every other school that's going to be difficult.
