I went 'all in' with Tesla and don't regret it
I purchased a Model Y for my wife in July 2020 and have had a very similar experience to yours. I also purchased the Tesla Energy Gateway and 3 PowerWalls for my home and had those installed with my solar array that produces about 18 Kwh of power in full sun.

The goal was to build a system that was truly an off-grid capable power source for my home in the event of a power outage, and sufficient to charge the Tesla from solar power alone (without pulling from the grid).

The integration of the Model Y and the Gateway through the Tesla app is pretty amazing. It's also awesome how I can program the Tesla home charger, the car and the Gateway to 'team' together to charge at the optimal times for full sun, or store the charge in my PowerWalls for later charging.

The way that Tesla has thought through my use case (which is pretty niche, not very many folks have the full setup like I do) is downright awesome.

My wife's car has been enabled to download the Full Self Driving preview and we've been testing that. It's amazing what the upgraded computers on board allow that car to do from an environmental sensing perspective. I use it on side streets now, whereas I only used the Enhanced Autopilot on the freeway.

I have had to replace the windshield on my wife's car, and while it was expensive up-front, our insurance company covered the expense as if it were another vehicle and we were fully reimbursed for the expense. I can understand why Tesla doesn't want Safelite or some auto glass shop to do it, since there is a major sensor package that has to be properly tuned when the glass is replaced.

Overall, I don't see my wife changing away from a Tesla anytime soon. We now have reduced her total expenditure for transportation on a monthly basis to pennies per day. She drives about a hundred miles per day as she works and plays competitive tennis. Compared to the hundreds per month we were spending on gas, the oil changes, the batteries getting replaced... I love our Tesla setup!
