Decision-tree for determining the SEC Invitational, er I mean, Playoff
Can we just call it SEC/tOSU Invitational and be done with College Football Playoff terminology?

Here's the decision-tree for selecting the "playoff":

Who's #1: Do we want it to be Alabama?

Yes, no discussion.

No, they lost once to TAMU. So should it be Clemson?

Yes, but we would prefer Alabama.

No, okay so it has to be Georgia, right?

Okay, we still think it should be Alabama, but as long as it is an SEC team, we'll hold our noses.

No, that is impossible, go back to beginning and try again.

Whose #2: Alabama

If Alabama is not #1, then they are automatically #2.
If Alabama is #1, then it is Clemson. Next!

Who's #3: Clemson or Ohio State.

Is Trevor Lawrence, Deshaun Watkins, or Tahj Boyd QB?

Yes, then Clemson is either #1 or #2.

No, then tOSU.

Who's #4: Is tOSU down to their 3rd string QB?

Yes, then tOSU is #4.

No, then is Georgia out?

Yes, they lost to Alabama in the championship game and Tennessee on a hail-mary. Then Ohio State is #2 and Alabama is #1, and Clemson is #3. Clemson and tOSU have to play each other and Alabama has to play the "also ran".

No, do we have Alabama, another SEC, and tOSU in?

Yes, then who cares. Let it be Oklahoma or ND.

Oklahoma and ND have two losses.

How many losses does Oregon have?

Just 1 to a bad Stanford team.

Okay, see "who cares?" above and make Oregon #4.

In short, no decision tree is necessary, just ensure the following:

Alabama (or SEC #1)
Alabama (if SEC #2; even if they lose in the regular season and the CCG, they will still be NC)
Ohio State
Oklahoma, or Clemson, or ND, or Oregon
