Losing to UCLA in the first round of the NCAA tourney may have been
the best thing that happened to BYU basketball last year.
If they had gone deep into the tournament last year, Barcello is less likely to return. He is a true leader and has a fire that is contagious. The new blood that has come in will be shaped by the veterans and that is a good thing.
I think losing that UCLA game was a huge learning experience for coach Pope and the players.
I am excited for the rest of the season. Looking forward to a better seed in the tourney and a team that is hungry and polished come tournament time.
