Need a new blender - Vitamix is dying. Worth getting a new Vitamix/Blendtec?

Black Friday is as good a time as any to replace it. Are Vitamix/Blendtec a huge step up from Ninja etc. to justify the price? Is 7-8 years the normal life of a blender like our current Vitamix?

Vitamix service is also great! You can send it in and they'll fix it or give you a pretty good credit towards a new one.

I have owned both, as well as a Bosch (for the Universal Bosch) and several others. TLDR: Vitamix is my favorite.

Mine's about that old and still works fine, but the new Vitamix is awesome! I should give the braun to one of the kids.
