Finished the book, but it really played up the Nynaeve and Lan budding relationship that could not be towards the end of Eye of the World. In the text, you could feel this building through much of the book as Nynaeve had this competitive skulking drive trying to prove herself Alan’s equal in the stealth department, but it seemed like a junior high boy’s same attempts to get attention by being obnoxious. I found Nynaeve’s character an unnecessary distraction. Egwane is better off without her.

I could have missed it though because I found myself getting a little lost at times with all the time and prior war references and such.
