In June of 2012 I attended BYU’s junior day. My nephew was invited to participate and each athlete could invite two
people to watch. His mom couldn’t go so I went with my BIL.

That was the day an unknown wide receiver recruit from California named Michael Davis showed up on the scene. Many of the guys reporting on recruiting had no clue to who he was.

Dallin Leavitt was there as a highly touted recruit for defense. In 1 on 1s Davis was unguardable. I remember Nick Howell getting after Leavitt for not staying with Davis. Howell wanted to know why he couldn’t stop him and Leavitt said “I can’t, he’s too fast.”

Davis was in a league all alone athletically above every other recruit there.

It’s cool to watch him in this game having had a small glimpse from where he came to get there.
