In all seriousness, people talk about SC as a place with all kinds of
advantages, unlimited resources, best recruits, etc. I don’t dispute that, but when you look back at it, they were mediocre from 1990-2002 and they’ve been mediocre since then. The only real strong stretch they had was when Carroll was there and they were committing all sorts of violations. Outside of Carroll, 30+ years of mediocre football.

More strangely is that this has coincided with the time where SC did not have to compete with the NFL for attention in its hometown.

Is this just a case of lots of bad coaches? Or are there institutional problems there as well?

Meanwhile, schools like LSU win nattys on the reg, even with mediocre coaches. What’s up with SC?
