Having a stadium so far away from campus really hurts the atmosphere by keeping a lot of students away from the game. Pretty much every big-time program has a stadium that is on or near campus. If you look at teams like Miami and UCLA, their game day atmosphere stinks. I think that this is one of the reasons that UNLV has been terrible for so long--their stadium was miles away from their campus. Hopefully for them the tides will shift now that they are playing in Allegiant Stadium, which is much closer to campus.
