weeks ago that my BIL does indeed know him. They're in the same ward. 
This BIL is what I would call a 'casual BYU fan'. He didn't attend BYU, but cheers for them. I suspect (though I doubt he'd ever admit it to me) that he also cheers for the Utes - especially if talking sports with Ute neighbors.

In the conversation a few weeks ago, I was surprised that he knows Todd, but never mentioned anything to me in the multiple conversations we've had since all that stuff went down. He said he was hesitant because he thinks Todd is a pretty good guy that let his ego get in the way of just sincerely apologizing and then moving on. BIL was worried about my perception of him if he in any way looked to be defending Todd. (BIL was probably right.) I just just agreed that Todd's ego did indeed seem to be a major stumbling block and then dropped the topic.

Again, if you do know Todd, I think it would be funny to give him one of these shirts.
