When women use Saidar (the female half of the power) the weaves are only supposed to be visible to other women who also have the ability to channel. The weaves, and the glow that surrounds a woman who channels would be completely invisible to any man, and any woman who can’t channel, only the results would be visible. The reverse is true of men channeling Saidin (the corrupted male half of the one power), no woman would would be able to see the weaves, only the results (miraculous healing, explosions, objects hanging in midair). They have been extremely hand wavy about this so far, and really appeared to break rules according to the book when it came to the “she shines like the sun” scene, despite repeated claims that they were going to stay true to those aspects of the lore. One of the primary foundations of Robert Jordans world is the separation of, fundamental differences between and inequalities in the genders. The tv show really seems to be either for politics, looking cool, or simplicity’s sake, removing these differences.
