If you are looking for Baylor to drop after a Big 12 Championship loss, here’s the history:
This is how much the committee has dropped Conference Championship game losers when they lose to a better ranked conference opponent:

2020 Northwestern goes from 14 to 14.
2020 Florida goes from 7 to 7.
2019 Virginia goes from 23 to 24.
2019 Wisconsin goes from 8 to 8.
2019 Georgia goes from 4 to 5.
2018 Pittsburgh goes from unranked to unranked
2018 Texas goes from 14 to 15.
2018 Northwestern goes from 21 to 22.
2018 Utah goes from 17 to 17

Summary: the extra loss does not matter when it’s to a higher ranked opponent. At most in the past 3 years, the lower ranked loser has dropped 1 spot.

Baylor drops to #9. That is a bit closer to making this practical, but still unlikely (see related post). (TCuz, Nov 30, 2021 at 5:08pm)
