If Cincy loses they are ineligible for the G5 spot. Must be a conference
champion for the G5 slot. Of course, they might get in as an at large, depending on how far they fall in the polls.
Also BYU has gotten a ton of respect. You have schools like Oklahoma SOS 20 (Big 12), Iowa SOS 22 (Big 10), Pitt SOS 44 and Wakeforest SOS 32(ACC), that all are 10-2, and are all behind BYU, despite all having higher SOS rankings.
Far easier to make a case of Oklahoma or Iowa over BYU, than BYU over any team ahead of them in the rankings. BYU being 12th is giving them a ton of respect.
