They betrayed the nature of Lan's character and we're not even halfway through the 1st book. Or are we? I don't even know what book that was from. Virtually nothing that happened in that episode is from the book and what little was based on the book was bastardized.

They skip all sorts of character and story development in the first 4 episodes to move things along and then put the plot in concrete for episode 5 to develop a bunch of garbage that isn't from the book at all and isn't very good either.

The writers of this show suck. The casting is great. The acting is awesome (see casting). The production value is impressive. The writing is not good. It gets by well enough not because the writing is good but because the source material is amazing and while they don't completely ruin it — they sure don't do it justice.

I have no problem with good changes. The way they have developed Lan and Nynaeve's relationship is better than the book. Aram is a much better character in this show. I don't love Liandrin, but I respect what they've done to establish her as a villain early on. However, if you are going to change classic scenes from the book, you better danged well do it right and they have not done so.

I'm glad we haven't seen any more Trollocs since they look ridiculous. Way to screw that up.

I actually enjoyed episodes 2-4 mostly, but since episode 5 was so crappy I decided to be mostly negative.
